Welcome to Mar Addai Parish!

A parish of the Diocese of California. One of the oldest Assyrian Churches in the United States. The Church altar was consecrated by the late H.H. Mar Eshai Shimun XXIII, Catholicos Patriarch of the East, on Sunday, January 8th, 1950.

Mar Addai, also knowns as Saint Thaddeus of Edessa, was one of the seventy two apostles of Christ. He was sent by Saint Thomas the Apostle to Edessa in order to heal King Abgar V, who had fallen ill. He stayed to evangelize and he converted King Abgar and the Assyrians to Christianity.
